The Way Things Work by David Macaulay

If you want to get through this entire (thick) book in one school year, follow the schedule provided, at a pace of ten to fourteen pages per week. This could be an independent reader for a Form 3, 4 or even a Form 5 student. I almost placed this book under Form 3, and perhaps it is better suited for these students, but some Form 2 students may have a deep interest in these subjects, too.

If you feel like the reading schedule is too much for your family, this would also be a great book to keep on the coffee table or in a basket, allowing your kids to grab it and look through the pages they are interested in. There is much to learn in this book!!
